JOB PURPOSE

Project Management of high-value, complex rail transportation signaling projects.  Implement and manage projects in accordance with contractual requirements.  Responsible for project performance/schedule compliance, cash flow and project budgets.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ensure engineering departments understand project requirements.
• Provide written instructions to departments as required
• Identify problems and propose solutions/work around.
• Ensure no out of scope work is being performed.
• Report and present to Senior and Corporate Management.
• Prepare contract change proposals.
• Negotiate with Clients for contract variations, claims.
• Prepare materials to support major contract change negotiations.
• Ensure all claims are identified, documented and submitted to the customer.
• Liaise with independent legal sources as required.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and management.
• Assume line management responsibility on site as required for:
• Personnel
• Manpower Budget
• Office Budget
• Site Performance
• PP&C
• Site Administration
• Prepare subcontractor work packages.
• Primary point of contact with clients.
• Maintain professional relationship with clients.
• Manage project team (Administrator, Planner, Engineer, Cost Accountant).
• Liaise at all levels within the company.
• Develop and adhere to project budget and schedules.

BASIC SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

• B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline
• Recognized Technical education
• Minimum 15 years experience in project management, supervisory and contracts areas.
• Excellent English communication skill both oral and written.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Ability to thoroughly understand all contact documentation (SOW, Specification, Terms and Conditions, P. O.).
