QUALIFICATION (DETAIL):
Education:
BSEE/CS minimum. MSEE/CS preferred.
Experience:
4+ years of experience developing software for embedded products and/or supporting semiconductor solutions.
Must be comfortable with both software and hardware.
Direct experience with MIPS/Linux based or similar embedded platforms is required.
Experience with wireless drivers and/or other networking drivers.
Knowledge of networking protocols and security concepts.
Familiarity with hardware debugging.
Experience in release processes, build and packaging.
Knowledge of multi-threading and synchronization in a driver environment.
Product porting, debugging, and testing experience.
Expperience in 802.11, xDSL, xPON, and VoIP is preferred
DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for technical support to ensure successful integration of Atheros WiFi products into our customers' carrier products. The role establishes this person as the technical expert for specific products and the relevant domain. Must have high technical competence and be able to provide in-depth technical responses to customers and to the company's Field Application Engineers, during the pre-sales process. Once engaged with a customer, must be able to map out the technical details of a system integration plan, from project start through mass production. Will also be involved in qualifying and working with third party partners. Will work closely with Atheros development engineering and program management. Ability to be reactive to customer needs coupled with superior problem solving and debug capabilities.

Must be self motivated with good communication skills and an investigative spirit.
