Requirements:
- BSEE degree plus 5 years combined experience in MCM, FEM, GaAs RFIC, or hybrid microwave module design. MSEE degree is preferred.
- Layout experience in Agilent ADS is preferred.
- Experience with Agilent ADS nonlinear simulation is preferred.
- Thorough working knowledge of spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal analyzers, digitally modulated signal sources, power meters, and noise figure meters is required.
- Candidate must be self directed, motivated, and able to work in small team environments with all types of personalities.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Responsibilities:
1. Design custom MCMs and FEMs for Wireless OEM and Automated Meter Reading applications.
2. Design hybrid connectorized RF/Microwave modules for Test & Measurement applications.
3. Perform circuit topology trades using linear and nonlinear simulations to identify the optimum solution while balancing performance, cost, and reliability.
4. Assume responsibility for the complete module design including: budget analysis, simulation, layout, matching circuit and harmonic filter design, ESD protection, control circuitry, and prototype tuning and test. Layouts will be done in ADS.
5. Perform detailed RF simulations using Agilent’s ADS software.
6. Design PCB’s for module testing and tuning
7. Generate design review documentation. Present simulations and/or measured results to peers in a group setting. Support peer design reviews.
8. Test & tune modules and evaluate their performance relative to target specifications using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal analyzers, digitally modulated signal sources, power meters, and noise figure meters.
9. Perform yield analyses, corner simulations, etc. to ensure that modules are high-yielding under conventional manufacturing and test processes.
10. Work closely with the Shanghai Operations Team to transition module products into production. Tuning and debug support during production may be required for yield improvement.
