QUALIFICATION (DETAIL):
Education:
BS Electrical or Computer Engineering, MS preferred
Experience:
1. Three or more years of related industrial experience desired
2. Good computer HW/SW systems knowledge. Programming skills in C/C++, Perl, and assemble languages is a plus.
3. Knowledge of USB and/or other digital systems interface standards
4. Enjoys hands on lab work using test/measurement equipments (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, in-circuit emulator)
5. Experience with board level SOC designs with MIPS, ARM or equivalent embedded processors
6. Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills
7. Verilog RTL and FPGA skills a plus
8. Knowledge of Wireless LAN protocols or cellular wireless communication protocols a plus
9. Highly motivated, fast learner, team player with good communication skills
10. RF experience is a plus
DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY:
The System Engineer will be called upon to help solve any number of system issues for internal and external customer designs. A strong understanding of how computer systems work, how software interacts in the systems, bus interface protocols and standards, memory subsystems, DMA implementations, and networking protocols will be needed to solve functional and performance issues.
An ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys the challenge of solving difficult systems issues, and is a fast learner with strong commitment to results.
1. Working close with multi-function development team, as a bridge to establishment internal & external system specs and interfaces. Need to co-work with US design development team
2. Chip brings up after tape-out and take responsible for reference design;
3. Select and procure the parts for prototypes; meet factory cost and development cost goals.
4. Develop hardware validation tests, scripts and tools
5. Verify and trouble shoot board level reference designs
6. Debug customer functional and performance issues
7. Digital, analog, and RF board level debug; hardware and software systems integration and debug
8. Systems will include Bluetooth Headset, Bluetooth USB, and embedded CPU, memory subsystems.
