Position Purpose:

 

Develops and coordinates complete process plans or tooling plans for the manufacture, assembly or test of precision hardware or electronics. Works with manufacturing members to implement method improvements.

Essential Functions:

.Provides limited technical solutions

.Supports the manufacturing floor for any process related questions

.Creates and maintains process documentation

.Implements engineering changes

.Applies existing methods to develop similar process plans or tooling

.Evaluates new processes and tooling for application to current designs

.Recommends revisions of methods of operation or material handling, alterations in equipment layout or other changes to increase production or improve standards

.Processes and updates work order documentation

Other Functions:

.Participates in concurrent design projects by providing input on processing principles

.Coordinates activities with Tool Design, and request required tooling and fixturing

.Selects machine tooling

.Generates engineering change requests

.Creates, analyzes and maintains rework processes for manufacturing

.Estimates costs on a limited basis

.Participates in cross-functional team projects and initiatives.

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

.Self-starting individual with high degree of mechanical aptitude

.Good verbal communication skills and ability to work with people

.Solid understanding of manufacturing processes as used in the specific area that he/she supports

.Strong computer skills.

Education or Formal Training:

.Bachelor degree or equivalent

Experience Required:

.Previous manufacturing experience

Materials and Equipment Used:

.PC'S, copiers

Working Environment/ Physical Activities:

.Office environment

.Production environment with possible exposure to noise, dust and temperatures above 80 degrees F

.Occasional travel may be required.

.May be required to pass Near Vision and/or Color Vision examinations
