JOB SUMMARY:
Specific and general involvement with all service and testing requirements for HVAC packaged system offering, including but not limited to: control panels, automation, motor drives, pumps, heat exchangers, expansion control systems, automated valves, instrumentation, sensors and other HVAC equipment. Responsibilities and activity is focused around the preparation, execution, and reporting of field services for HVAC Packaged Systems. Will require hands on activities with the product equipment in the factory and in the field / on-site, typically in a new building construction environment. Estimated time required for travelling is 50 – 60 %.
The incumbent will become a key trainer and educator of third party service representative firms. The position requires; a general knowledge of commercial wet side HVAC heating and cooling systems, knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, hands on field service experience, and a strong commitment to customer service. Clear and concise communications skills, written and verbal, are a pre-requisite.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Hands-On and Supervisory Field Service activity for: equipment start-ups, commissioning of plants / packages, training of operators, warranty claims, warranty correction, modification of equipment in the field.
• Pre-shipment inspection and qualification of pre-fabricated pump stations and HVAC plant systems.
• Participate in the qualification of third party service representatives for HVAC Packaged Systems
• Train and provide site guidance to third party service organizations
• Participate in product development and service development activities within the organization
• Provide operator training on our system offerings after customer acceptance
• Compile and review site commissioning / startup / warranty field reports for pre-fabricated HVAC packaged systems.
• Participate in the monthly preparation of Department reports
• Liaise with engineering, technical support, project management, sales and marketing for product development activities and project specific initiatives.
• Participate in the creation of new Service process maps, documents, forms and other elements important to this area of responsibility.
• Identify and report on product or process deficiencies identified through on-going service activities
• evelops and maintains the portfolio of promotional materials in partnership with the Communications Department
• Responsible for contribution and involvement with process improvements, product design improvements, new product development, e-learning, service capabilities, and other marketing or corporate initiatives.
• Other duties as required.
• Establish authorized Armstrong service and parts service dealers throughout China
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will require 60/40% travel time and office time within China and the incumbent be capable of travel to the USA and Canada for training,as well as international travel to other Pacific Rim area's if required.. The incumbent must be comfortable in communicating in Chinese( Mandarin and Cantonese) as well as English written and spoken complex concepts and able to operate under tight deadlines for project completion. The incumbent must be comfortable in communicating to a wide range of professions; mechanical contractors, design engineers, control contractors, building operators, and general contractors. The incumbent must also become fluent on the company's total portfolio of fluid management products.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent must possess practical hand-on field service experience in a commercial or industrial segment. The position requires a degree of automation, electric controls, and thermo-hydraulic technical knowledge and work experience. A broad knowledge of, and experience with; pumps, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC system automation devices, PLCs, VFDs, and heat exchangers is desired.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• College degree / designation in Mechanical or Electrical Technologist or Applied Engineering, or a related education with comparable field / work experience
• Five of more years of hands on Field Experience.
• Five or more years of involvement with the commercial construction marketplace or industrial market.
• Experience with control systems or automation / serial communications.
• Hands on experience with mechanical equipment in the HVAC industry.
• Excellent computer and software skills (including excel, word)..
