Context:

THOMSON has developed a complete system software stack for DVB Decoder systems. The objective of this software is to fill the Business Units’ needs with easy customization for specific network operators specifications. Even if this software stack is already deployed in the market for different operators (satellite, cable, terrestrial) and telecom, it grows up continually to meet new customer requirements and/or market needs.

In order to integrate this system software more new features and to maintain it as a product, VPS is looking for software integrator engineer in Beijing to work within VPS team.

This Software integrator Engineer will work in a newly established R&D center with a dynamic and friendly environment, with competitive opportunities to grow professionally. He/She will be a member of a powerful international team and will be involved in the design and developments of the new software stack features.

Job description:

Inside VPS TVS team, the Software Integrator Engineer will work within a team of SW engineers to integrate new features (PVR, Flash Player) and external bricks as browsers, IP protocols, VOD server and to provide a complete SW solution under different OS and platform.

To ensure robust and efficient SW deliveries, he/she will define, develop and run some test applications. He/She will integrate these bricks in a complete system software stack which works on Digital TV Receiver on different OS and Platform.

The required person shall:

1. In the course of the development phase, integrate regularly the bricks or modules coming from the SW team.
2. Participate in the code and document review regularly
3. Design, develop, document and run test suite applications to test the integrated bricks or interfaces.
4. Provide a first analysis of the defects to the SW engineers during integration phases.
5. Participate to the interface definition and design.
6. Provide and follow tools allowing to keep robust the complete SW in order to reach the expected level of performances and robustness.
7. Follow up the development plan coming from Project manager in order to deliver the completed SW and its according documentation
8. Track and report on a weekly basis to the Project Manager.
9. Follow high quality process already in place (CMM).
10. Support the customers to build the development environment and integrate the deliveries

The jobholder shall have a significant experience on software methodology, object oriented, C/C++ and assembler languages, real-time software, simulation and debugging tools.

Required profile:

1. digital TV / set top box domain (audio/video MPEG2/MPEG4, IP and terrestrial reception, DVB standards)
2. High experience in C/C++ embedded software integration.
3. Unix shell, script languages, build/makefile tools
4. High knowledge in Clearcase configuration management tools, UCM, clearquest.
5. Good communication skills in both written and oral English
6. Autonomy, open minded
7. Process minded, used to follow development cycles and CMM
8. Customer relations experience
9. Strong experience in debug of difficult integration issues and test aspects.
10. High experience with software configuration management (SCM), Clearcase, ClearQuest, UCM (could be a plus),
11. Deep understanding of Makefile environment.

Following knowledge, skills and experience will be considered as a plus:

1. Driver and Middleware level embedded software/real time SW and system expertise.
2. Used to work in international environment
3. Expertise with TCP/IP at the protocol level as well as its usage (“Socket API”)

任职资格与具体要求 :

1. 熟悉数字电视领域（音视频编解码，DVB标准等），有机顶盒应用软件经验优先。
2. 熟练进行C/C++嵌入式软件的集成
3. 能够处理开源代码的各种约束
4. 对Unix Shell，脚本语言，Build/makefile工具有一定的了解。
5. 有一定的软件配置管理(SCM)经验，有ClearCase、ClearQuest经验者优先
6. 流利的英语口语，读写
7. CMM相关经验

具有以下经验或能力者优先

1. 精通驱动级和中间件级的嵌入式软件和系统的开发
2. 熟练掌握TCP/IP协议及其Socket API的使用。
