SUMMARY OF JOB:
Lead Component Engineering team to evaluate, qualify and implement primary and/or secondary component source opportunities for Computer Room/Data Center Cooling products and Rack products. Manage NPD component qualification activities as a part of program team. Assist and participate in vendor qualification. Motivate and direct team as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead developing and qualification of new components for NPD programs.
- Lead the team to follow up the parts availability for prototype, alpha, pilots and initial production.
- Lead to support component sepcification activities, application in product design as well as manufacturing.
- Develop new vendor sources, in conjunction with the Purchasing team.
- Creative problems-solving and diagnostic/troubleshooting abilities.
- Maintain aggressive product development schedules.
- Work as part of a cross functional team.
- Other duties as required.
- Assist and participate in vendor qualification
- Support secondary sourcing activities as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, advanced degree preferred
- 5 years of practical experience in Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronics component engineering
- 2+ years direct management of technical people
- Excellent leadership, communications, listening and interpersonal skills
- Creative thinking, analytical problem solving and organizational skills
- Proficient in use of Excel, Word
- Proficient in use of Oracle
- Work with minimal supervision
- Program management skills
- knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software (ProE & Solidworks)
- Domestic and international travel as needed
- Fluent in Oral and Written English
- Think globally and communicate effectively at all levels
