Major Responsibilities:
· Making parts avoid appearance issues with knowledge of plastic design.
· Travelling to tool shops to review tools, first shots of parts, reviewing pre/post grain parts, communicating with North American engineers & suppliers.
· Program management - weekly meeting, open issues management, open issue resolution, timeline management with suppliers, etc.
· Working with suppliers to design and develop body components or systems.
· Developing and managing DFMEA with Quality & Core Engineer.
· Developing and managing component/system DVP&R with Core Engineering.
· Developing plans to meet quality objectives and validate robustness and durability of the designs.
· Ensure design and all Engineering specifications are understood by suppliers.
· Ensure all Ford engineering and quality requirements are met through design and verification.
· Transferring and converting CAD data from/to suppliers as required.
· Oversee prototype build and testing, review results and prepare report.
· Oversee component/system level design verification and production validation.
· Interface with Ford North America team for product launching.
· Performing package and stack-up studies at both component and subsystem levels.
· Participating in root cause analysis and problem resolution as issues occur.
· Support all APQP activities including PPAP.
· Provide Assembly plant support during prototype/launch phases or as required.
Requirements:
· Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Automotive Engineering.
· Minimum of 2 years design experience in vehicle Body interior trim system.
· Automotive climate control, air register, air outlet related experience preferred.
· Experience with Automotive design and verification process.
· Extensive experience in Quality/Reliability such as FMEA, Design Verification and Global 8D.
· In-depth knowledge in CAD and testing.
· Knowledge of APQP process.
· OEM supplier experience preferred.
· Good skills in project management.
· Good communication skills in Chinese and English.
· Familiar with MS Office applications
· Team player, dependable and honest.
· Flexible working hours to accommodate meetings with US.
· Willing to travel inside China.
