Objective of role:
To originate and implement into manufacture electronic and electrical designs as required for the companies products.
Main duties and responsibilities:
-From market requirements and, taking into account the legislative constraints, technology, cost, electronic component availability and manufacturing efficiency, provide reliable designs for the business.
-Undertake projects within the scope of both the Lean Project Management and Technology Development processes, taking direction from project managers.
-Generate design requirement and other specifications taking into account the multidiscipline nature of design teams.
-Generate test requirements and implement test programs for design verification.
-With the Development Manager develop and manage the design and other processes used within the section in order to maximise design quality, minimise the overall time to market and control costs.
-Provide technical team leadership both within the discipline and on projects in the area’s of digital and analogue circuit design, design for reliability, and EMC. Using appropriate tools such as FMEA and design review proactively engage in improving the effectiveness and quality of their designs.
-As required provide technical consultancy to other areas of the business in order to solve problems and provide solutions. In particular support outsourcing, quality manufacture and purchasing. Undertake travel as required under this responsibility.
-Maintain up to date skills in electronic design methods and technologies in order to maintain world class design standards within the business
