Job Description:
- OHV System Engineer is involved in the complete design cycle - customer requirements, concept design, detailed design, validation, supplier qualification, and field/customer support. System includes multiple embedded control platforms and off-board support tools, rotating equipment, power electronics, and control electronics. Products include propulsion systems for large mining dump trucks for the global mining market
- Responsible for communication between Truck OEM and Erie Engineering team, providing timely updates on projects and developing the GE-Truck OEM relationship
- Responsible for system specification, system validation, product performance measurement, and component selection.
- Responsible for development within Design For Six Sigma processes and ISO Compliance processes.
- Responsible for working with a team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineers in development efforts.
- Position requires frequent interfacing with organizations including Engine OEM, Truck OEM, Software Engineering, COE's (Center of Excellence), Field Service and Customers.
Responsible for conducting Formal Verification & Validation of designs in Lab, Haul Truck, and Field Environments.
Qualifications:
- BSEE required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- System level testing experience
- Good bi-lingual (Chinese & English) written and verbal communication skills required
- Experience with electrical propulsion system: AC/DC power electronics, AC/DC motors, alternators(交流发电机)
- Experience with locomotive, transit and OHV applications.
- Quality training (ISO, CMM), Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred
- Experience with embedded control system development, Matlab, Matrix X, simulation and code generation tools
