Job Profile:
A member of a multidisciplinary team, the main role will be to perform analyses of automotive, real time systems in order to demonstrate and provide evidence as to the suitability of such systems for their intended application. The systems that will be the subject of such analysis will, in general, cover a wide range of automotive applications. These may include, braking systems and steering and chassis control systems.
Reporting to the Systems and Safety Technology Group Leader within Conekt, you will be required to take 6 ~ 9 months initial training in the UK, and will then go on to be based at Conekt Shanghai Office with TRW Shanghai Technical Center in Shanghai, China, to take a technical lead role in developing and demonstrating the suitability of a wide range of safety related and safety critical applications.
Principal Accountabilities:
· To assist in the capture, analysis, comprehension and specification of the requirements for complex advanced systems with a particular focus on the safety of such systems
· To assist in the safety analysis of these systems using appropriate related techniques, such as Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis
· To highlight issues raised during such analyses and recommend alternative approaches where appropriate.
· To specify safety requirements for systems.
· To assist in the translation of specified safety requirements into appropriate and successful prototype and pre-production designs.
· To supervise/manage the resources necessary to achieve the above goals.
Personal Characteristics:
· First degree or higher in a related discipline, or equivalent experience
· Preferred - broad understanding of electrical, electronic (including software), mechanical and hydraulic systems.
· Preferred - experience in the development of high integrity systems
· Preferred - experience of FMEA and FTA, and associated techniques and their application
· Understanding of the aspects of the development of concept demonstrators en route to defining high integrity, volume or niche, products
· Communications skills and good inter-personal skills.
· Team Player with the ability to work alone.
