JOB PURPOSE
The Project Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the coordination, preparation, monitoring and maintenance of Critical Path Merhod (CPM) based schedules from which various levels of schedule reports are derived. The preparation and maintenance of these schedules is done in close conjunction with the various Team Leaders and Department Managers, as required.
Developing and presenting various schedule based reports and metrics such as schedule variance reports, Earned Value Performance analysis, Resource Reports and company specific metrices are part of Planner’s responsibilities
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Develops Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in conjunction with Project Management Team and Team Leaders. The WBS forms the basis of the CPM Logic Diagrams.
2.Prepares detailed CPM Logic Diagrams in conjunction with Project Manager, Team Leaders and Department Managers.
3.Ensures the assignment of budgeted resources to each network activity with the appropriate Team Leader.
4.Prepares Manpower Loading Reports for all Functional Departments.
5.Prepares Schedules, Graphs and Progress Curves for monthly reports and progress reviews for both the Project Manager and Team Leaders as requested.
6.Monitors and reviews the schedule with the estimates to complete (ETC) in conjunction with the Cost Controller and the Team Leaders
7.Coordinates with the Project Cost Controller in activating and processing Work Packages
Highlights problem areas during schedule updates to the Project Manager in order to minimize schedule impacts and devise workarounds, if possible.
8.Monitors and updates schedules with progress for all Functional Departments, Sub-Contractors and Site installation.
MISCELLANEOUS TASKS/ACTIVITIES
1.Monitors and maintains Contract Deliverables Requirements List (CDRL) and prepares Progress Curve.
2.Provides coordination and expertise to the disciplines in the application and operation of P3e Project Management and Planning Software.
3.Coordinates with the Material Planner to ensure timely production and delivery of the project hardware
4.Prepares various spreadsheets such as material delivery, Schedule Analysis Reports, Risk Lists, etc.
5.Prepare and maintains weekly Project Review Action Lists.
6.Generates “What if” scenarios for Manpower and schedule issues.
BASIC SKILL & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
1.Community College, University graduate plus 3 –5 years planning knowledge and experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2.Good knowledge & skills in project management tool Primavera (P3e).
3.The ability to interact and extract information from co-workers and translate this information into CPM logic diagrams.
4.Must be well organized and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
5.Must possess the ability to foresee potential problems and avoid them by preplanning.
6.Working knowledge of MS Office applications
