This candidate should plan to spend a period of 12 – 18 months in the USA working under a J1 Training Visa. This period will begin 2 – 4 months after the person is hired onto the team.
This person's main objectives would be:
1) CV A&S Customer support for Actuators in Asia
a. HTT is supplying Variable Geometry Turbochargers with Electric Actuators to may OEMs within NA, Europe & Asia that require interface support. These applications are now beginning to appear in China.
b. HTT is purchasing these Electric Actuators from two different suppliers in Japan
c. The HTT Electric Actuator team is spread between Japan, Brno, France, USA, & Mexico
2) Added bandwidth to the global EA team
a. They will support specification writing, report writing, customer spec gap analysis, etc...
The ideal candidate would come from either an automotive OEM, truck engine OEM or an automotive Tier 2 supplier such as Bosch, Delphi, Siemens, Hella, Visteon, Eaton, CTS, Norgren, etc…
This ideal candidate would be working as a Mechatronics engineer with 3 – 7 years experience as one of the following products:
1) Electronic Throttle Control systems
2) EGR Valve Actuators
3) Intake Manifold actuators
4) Throttle position sensors
5) Engine Control Modules
6) Variable Valve Timing (Cam Phaser Systems)
7) Hydraulic Actuators
Responsibilities of the position:
· Work within a team that is developing and qualifying sensors & actuation systems for future turbochargers.
· Work with new and existing customers to understand their requirements for future programs.
· Develop engineering specifications for new Mechatronics products. (Electric Actuators, Pneumatic Actuators, Hydraulic Actuators, Speed Sensors, Linear Position Sensors, Rotary Position Sensors)
· Work with multiple suppliers to develop sensor and actuator options.
· Work with HTT supply base and customer teams to selected the best supplier for future products.
· Overlook mechanical & electrical design against define customer requirements, develop and select best concepts, design, and implement into production new automotive turbocharger actuation and sensor solutions.
· Work effectively with internal and external, Modeling, Plastic molding, Metal fabrication, Magnetic and electrical design resources to produce successful designs.
· Create mechanical models and tolerance analysis to simulate various concepts.
· Perform mechanical calculations for new actuator and sensor designs.
· Collaborate with cross-functional team to create & execute test plans.
· Create mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies and finished products.
· Publish engineering reports documenting design details and qualification test results.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· 3+ Years experience in Automotive Actuators & Sensors @ either an Automotive OEM or Supplier
· Experience in High Temperature (>120°C) Automotive under hood electronics or hydraulics
· Experience with High Vibration (>30 GRMS) Engine mounted actuators or electronics
· Experience with automotive internal combustion engines
· Technical understanding of overall automotive requirements
· Excellent task management skills to ensure tasks are delivered on time, meet financial, performance, quality and reliability goals
· Excellent electrical or mechanical design skills
· Experience using or directing the use of design tools (CATIA or Pro E)
· Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
· Ability to employ DFSS tools and methodology throughout the design process
· Knowledge of New Product Development process and its relationship to Automotive APQP / PPAP requirements
· Proficient with applicable computer skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD packages, SPICE, PSPICE, Minitab, MATLAB
· Ability to effectively weigh cost/performance tradeoffs in new concepts?
· Ability to work with cross-functional teams that may include multiple locations
· Some travel including international is required
· 2nd Language is helpful when working in an international team
