Objectives:
1. To organize, train and manage the team of design engineers in order to make world class, cost effective and quality reliable transformer designs based on customer’s specifications.
2. To release drawings and specifications for sourcing, quality and manufacturing.
To support customers, sales and marketing, workshop, quality & vendors.
Job Contents:
1.Power transformer design
Schedule the activity of the department.
Analyze the customer specifications.
Provide international quality power transformer design documents using design specific softwares, rules and standards.
Designs will meet delivery and quality targets & will be cost effective to make the project profitable.
Promote and conduct the engineering & production reviews in order to produce error free designs & reliable products, to reduce the cost of non-quality and to improve the overall efficiency of the Unit.
2.Tendering
Examination of the customer requirements. Expertise on Tender design realized by his/her team.
Easy use of TARGET tool.
3.Team management
Hire, train, motivate and evaluate the people in the team, in order to provide the Unit with the needed Design competencies and performance.
Schedule the activity of the department.
Master the budget preparation and execution.
4.Project management & support
Coordinate the department activity with other internal functions: mechanical design, sourcing, quality & production.
Remove bottlenecks & provide solutions to the problems with a group approach.
Guides shop floor workers for new designs & for shop floor problems.
5.Customers satisfaction
Participate to technical customers meetings and provide solutions to the customers.
Produce customer drawings & documents as per order. Provide technical support when necessary.
Analyze customer complaints, respond to them, collect relevant information and suggest appropriate corrective measures to customer services department in order to ensure quick solutions for customer complaint.
6.Power transformer design improvement
Understand International design and Areva PTR tools.
Keep aware of the technological solutions for new products in order to reduce costs and ensure optimized industrialization processes (manufacturing and testing). Implement them within the team.
Continually develop working knowledge of processes, tools, and methodologies for all phases of the manufacturing process. Evaluate test results and make necessary modifications on the future designs in coordination with PTR R&D.
Lead projects to reduce cost, non quality or delays; participate to continuous improvement action plans.
7.Relationships with Institutions / Suppliers
Create, develop and maintain business relations and effective communication with Institutions and Suppliers, in order to benefit from their support & to support suppliers in production of quality components.
Requirements:
1.Education - Diplomas
Graduate Engineers (electrical if possible).
2.Job experience required
Minimum 5 years of experience in power transformer design. Appreciated experience of project / team management.
3.Specific competencies
Project management
Power transformer technology, components understanding, manufacturing process knowledge.
Design softwares and Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Inventor, Target, TDS…) , M.S. Office
